Private lesson Dutch
What do you need? What can I do for you? Together we will look at what you need at this moment. What subjects are important to you? Do you want to use study books or just chat to work on your vocabulary and pronunciation? What level do you have? Is it for work or for school / study?
In a private lesson I can easily correct you and I can adapt the lesson completely to you. In short, in a few lessons you can learn a lot. But as it goes with everything. The more time you spend on the language the faster you will learn. But that makes sense. Right? 😊
Trial lesson Dutch
Do you have doubts whether I can help you or do you prefer to get acquainted first? You can do that in a trial lesson. In 45 minutes we will look together at what you need. What I can do for you and what you find important.
For example, do you want to use study books or just chat to work on your vocabulary and pronunciation? Or maybe a combination of both? What level do you have? Is it for work or for school / study? Do you want homework or perhaps not at all? During the trial lesson we will make an inventory of your needs and what you want to get out of the lessons. Together we will see what the best solution is for you. Hope to see you soon! 😊
Frequently Asked Questions
My name is Debby Roolvink, I am 37 years young and I live in the Netherlands in the beautiful region Twente (Overijssel). I have travelled a lot and I love to meet new people. From 2005 to 2006 I lived in Ireland for over a year as an Au Pair. Because of this great experience I was able to improve my English a lot. I am not an official English or Dutch teacher but I have a passion for languages and meeting new people is just great fun!
Since September 2020, I started to teach Dutch online to non-native speakers from all over the world. Meanwhile I am 2000 lessons further and I loved every minute of it! The people you get to know are all unique and have varying levels and different needs. I get a lot of energy from this. That is why I now want to help Dutch people with the English language as well. Because anyone who can speak a decent word of English can discover the whole world! (Of course that’s also with the Dutch language 😉)
I worked at two Bruna’s (bookstores) for almost 12 years because I just love to read. No, my Dutch is not perfect but neither are my English or German. And that’s okay. As long as people understand you in the language and they know what you mean, then you already have a good start. And from there you go on, until you’ve reached the level you want to reach.
Currently I am learning the French language because I now have friends living in France (nice holiday home 😊 ). Learning a new language is hard and you really have to be persistent and keep doing your best. The grammar is different and the logic is sometimes hard to find, but you can be proud of yourself if you make progress in the language. So patience, motivation and determination is very important!
Working together on your Dutch and having fun in the meantime is very important to me. Life is serious enough as it is!
Furthermore, I love walking, watching movies and series, practising yoga, drawing or painting and enjoying the beautiful weather when we have it in our little country :)
Lessons are from 14 to 121 years old and everything in between ;)
Often we start with the question: How are you? How was your weekend or week? And from there we move on to homework/ chatting/ questions/ reading/ listening etc. Every lesson is different and I am a flexible teacher. So a lesson can suddenly be slightly different than the last time. Unless you don’t like this then we stick to a certain structure.
You can pay by bank transfer or through PayPal. If you live in the Netherlands and you have a Dutch bank account it’s also possible to pay by “Tikkie” or “betaalverzoek”.
The lesson (group lesson or private lesson) takes place in Microsoft Teams. You will receive a link for this in your email. You don’t have to be registered with Teams or download anything. You just click on the link and choose the web browser function. Be sure to give permission for the use of your camera and microphone. It’s useful to start 5 minutes earlier to make sure you’ll be in the classroom on time!
